R-12 Air Conditioning Questions

Hey, I happened to find some R12 air conditioning refrigerent. It freaking sweet it costs like 62 dollars per pound. Well I was looking in the sight glass in the front of my car, to the right back of the battery ( for those who cant find it) Well I dont see any bubbles.....for that fact I dont see anything(If the refridgerent is clear... How are you supposed to see it?). MY MR is 14 years old 1991 and i doubt it has had anything done to the ac. Could it be that there is just no refrigerent in and and the system is fine (no leaks) or would there always be some kind of by-product in there and the system leaked all of the stuff out?

Does it work? You'll need to turn on the AC to see bubble. You should use a pressure gauge to check how much you need to fill.

If the system is so low in pressure that it doesn't come on at all, you'll never see bubbles or any kind of flow.

I've had very good success with R134 converted MR2's. Do NOT believe all the crap about $800 to convert your car.

You:

1. Remove all old R-12 (with a reclaiming system) IF there's any in there.

2. Add 2 oz. of Ester oil (synthetic refrigerant oil)

3. Charge the system with 1.8 LBS. of R134a refrigerant.

4. Enjoy the cold air.

Yes, it's an N/A. It IS a 3.0 liter V6 though. Does that matter?
