Hm, I'm sure it's faster in real life. What's the weight on that thing? Dyno'd yet? I assume you'll get a quarter mile sooner or later. Awesome car, but I want to see some numbers with it.

My 5VZ-FE is from a 4runner. There are several other trucks its in though. I used this motor for a couple of reasons.

It has the best flowing head design of the affordable toyota V6es and its the largest toyota V6 I could find under $1000 The bottom end is tough and capable of a LOT more RPMs than the 1MZ V6. With my valve springs and oil pump upgraded I will be able to spinn this motor as high as the stock 3S with no problems. The the Z in 5VZ designates that this motor was designed with supercharging in mind so it handles forced induction well.

As to the speed, ill put it this way. Its quite a bit faster at 5psi than the 3S-GTE mr2 swap we did a few weeks ago. That car has downpipe, intake, running 16psi running in tip top condition. Keep in mind though this is not a drag car its a GT car for road racing. That said the car is still on a VERY rough tune. From my highly accurate "seat of the pants" dyno I would conservitavly estimate im getting about 250hp crank out if it right now with a LOT more potential since its running UBER rich at just 5psi (the ECU is mapped for non intercooled supercharger).

The engine was NOT intended for transverse drive setup. Because of this there are no mount locations for the turbo transmissions carrier berring mount. I had to fabricate a frame to attach it to the block where the truck motor mount would normally go. There were other issues too. Since the engine is only intended for FR configuration there is NO mount on the front of the motor where the timing belt sits. I had to build a braket that bolts into where the fan pully usually mounts. The braket spans the timing belt and has to support the majority of the weight fromt he motor. So that took a long time to design and get just right.

MR-355: We are putting togeather a proposal for a client who wants a 1MZ-FETT right now. But a good estimate for the full install and tune would be around $3K if you were to provide an engine.

Hey HYDE, Im getting UBER low intake temps from the intercooler aswell. It must be something to do with the location, well the massive core may have something to do with that too.

Sorry for the poor spelling guys

awsome ! i have dreamed of a V6 twin turbo set up for the MR2. you guys have made it a reality.. it will truly be a beast when fully tuned and it's full potential realized. but it sounds like ALOT of work ,thought and fabricating ..but when you think about, it's really great bang for the buck....can i take it for a test drive??? I promise not to speed and I'll come back-someday
