Angry need a new Oxygen Sensor

so after finally figuring out why my engine light was on via the flashing. I need a new oxygen sensor. So I called my local toyota dealer, and a new one cost $258 + tax.. bah! That's a direct kick to the balls!

Try Canadian Tire or other aftermarket part store.
Acturally you can almost get a wide band O2 with that price.

A 4-wire turbo MR2 sensor runs about $120-$130 (US).
Depending on the exchange rate, that sounds kinda high.

A wide band is not going to work with the OEM ECU.

I had the LM1 unit ... how do you figure it works with the OEM ECU?
I would imagine that the output signal from a wideband is going to be very different than a regualr O2.

call up any NAPA store and ask for a NGK Sensor, part number 24556, shouldn't cost you nearly as much.......

technically a wideband o2 sensor will work w/ the stock ECU... just leave the last two wires for the ion pump disconnected and the signal will go back to normal and can be read by the ECU
