Its called a Mk1.5.
Officially I dont think anyone has posted performance numbers, but it's very fast.
There are a farily good number of them around, just do a search on "Mk1.5 MR2".

I think its a farily complex job, but not too expensive since you can get a Mk2 clip for like $2000. Im sure someone from here has one. They can tell you more.

i see you said 3SG-E, not GT-E...interesting...

the Mk1.5...it's expensive, yes. the original is still by far the best version as it is r&d-ed regularly. pus the owner/builder/developer is one hell of an experienced driver. there are expenses past just the swap...there's suspension and tires that might be able to harness the increased dynamics of a more powerful midship powerplant.

thanks...just talked to toysport, they are still developing the front mount so firewall reconfiguration wont be necessary, and they only have 1 car up and running right now. planning on coming up with the mount soon they said.oh yeah and it will set you back $5500 for the 3sge and $7500 for the t. unprepped engines also, i might add. leaning toward the 20v4age now. anyone got some insight into the silvertop. specifics would be great!

I think that would be a great swap. I know a 5sfe swap has been done and it makes for a pretty nice car. The 3sge is a much better platform than the 5s is anyways.... although if you were going to go through all that work... a 3sgte would be ideal.

well, upon further thought, you can't call a 3SG-E in a MkI MR2 a Mk1.5 since the 3SG-E didn't come in the MkII MR2.

and people (lots by now) have posted lots of numbers...
