Put the ECU in diagnoistic mode so you can set idle and timing. Check user manual for location.
You'll have 15deg or more advance if you just check it without connecting the terminals. Also timing is not stable enough to get a good reading. You should put disturbutor back to where it was.
Ok...i need to adjust my timing and I have a noob question. The bgb says that you need to connect terminals TE1 and E1 with a SST. What is an SST? Do you just connect those and then check the timing. It then says if you dont' have those connected it will be 12-21* btdc. thanks for any help.

I took the car to the shop and have the mechanic check the timing for me, he said it has only 5 deg max. He said it could be the timing belt is not lined up right. Is that could be the problem or something else worse could cause that?

SST-Special Service Tool, in this case a jumper wire or piece of metal to short the terminal.
Help guys, I went to the shop and opened the timing belt cover but the belt is lined up right, took out the distributor and put everything back together, then the timing is normal again. Drove it around, but the car still doesnt run strong, it won't rev over 5k. They also did a compression test and its good, so every mechanical parts seen fine. Does anyone know whats the problem?
You previously mentioned not being able to adjust base ign. timing past 5deg btdc bec. the distributor was turned all the way on its notch. How did it fix itself? Are you sure both cam and crank timing marks lined up?

When was the last time you replaced your ignition components?? Plugs, wires, rotor, cap... etc. That is probably your problem.
