im swapping my 5sfe for a 3sgte. i was wondering if it is possible to put a supercharger onto the 3sgte engine in a sw20 chasis? and also, since they dont seem to make mkII superchargers, is there another vehicle that has a supercharger that i could swap into the mkII?
im gonna spend a lot of time researching this and ill give you guys my estimated cost, modifications, parts needed. if you guys can help me with this, email me at Cheesegoblins@hotmail.com
sorry i don't have more pics... but when i was @ the speed-source meet here, we had a twin charged mkI... i feel bad i forget the name of the guys car, but i only know of like 3/4 in the world... don't quote me but i believe he was running like 11.7's on it and had around 370whp... but that could be an understatement or an overstatement, if i find out otherwise i will tell ya... anyways not your idea, but enjoy the concept

thanks for the info man, i didn't mean to say like only 3/4 in the world, just that i only know of like 3/4 personally hehe trying to say that it is a pretty rare feat in and of itself
do you have any links to one of those HKS kits? i would like to take a look at it... i will do a google search too

thanks 5Sfte...so how does that work? in what order are they iinstalled from intake to manifold.? do they share the same IC? I have never heard of this. but find it very interesting..what are the pro's/cons?
ya, did the math, cost would be well over 10k since ud have get a decent supercharger to compliment the turbo, and for custom parts and harnesses.
i have sent letters to several companies who said they plan to make more superchargers for more imports. if they show some kind of interest, ill let you know.
370rwhp?!
That seems a little crazy.
Hyde, what are your thoughts on this?
Amlikon: Granted it would be expensive, but idk about well over 10 grand.
And you don't need a good s/c. The SC12 will do just fine, you just need it to make boost until the point at which the snail is making more.
So if you have a turbo that makes 12psi at 3500 and then climbs from there to your desired max boost you would be fine with a blower that makes 10-12psi until ~3500. You would set the switch to happen at 3500 rpms and enjoy lag free boost.
Idk what the boost map is for the SC12, but Im assuming it'll do just fine with an aftermarket pulley.
Your description of how to trasnfer from 10-12 psi of SC boost into 10-12 psi of Turbo boost is the ideal situation. It's ironic that this thread was posted as this is something I have been researching already
Hyde makes great power from 4300-7600 rpms, but I wouldn't mind some low end kick to get everything rolling. It would be nice to launch at a lower rpm and to have some extra juice coming out of the sharp turns on the hill climbs.
I could twin-charge Hyde for well under $10K. I just don't have the money.
The other option I am looking at is putting a SC V6 into Jekyl and making that the hill climb car
not worth it at all. I have a friend who has a turbo and superchraged mini. He admits its just to look good but its not an efficient way of force induction. Go with one or the other.
