Question Good deal?

I found a 1991 MR2 that is non turbo, 79,000 miles, T tops. leather seats, 5 speed, and a cat back exhaust. The person is asking $6,500 for it. When I looked at it i didnt see any rust spots or any rust on the bottom either. Everything on it looks perfect. If anyone has a clue as to if this is a good deal you can either post here or email me at smitty_8866@hotmail.com .

Thanks
-Alex Smith

I think bluebook value is only about $4,500.00 - $5,000.00. that may give you a reference point to draw your own conclusions. in the end, is it worth it to you?.. being 14 yrs old and 79K miles (which is not that hi for those # of years) you know it's bound to need some work down the road..

I'd say a little high, but not too bad.

A car is worth as much as anybody is willing to pay for it!

exactly! The MR2 is under rated and worth more to someone familiar with them...

I think that's a bit much.
I'm getting a 91 with 95k miles on it, all maintenence records, not a single scratch on the paint or interior... perfect .. and i mean PERFECT condition.. for 3500 from a mechanic.

5,000 seems more than reasonable for a car with 79k miles, but 6500 is a bit (i'm beind modest) much. See if the person will negotiate, and what kind of exhaust?

The mileage is very nice, but still not worth $6k.
If it were a turbo, definately (since they sell for that much with alot more miles), but for an N/A I don't think so.
Wait it out... no one is buying it at that price if they know what they're talking about.
Tell him you are interested but not even close to that price, and let that sit on his mind for a few months.
