Need a 5sfe motor :(

My 2 went to it's first track day at the end of August. (Just got it in the beginning of July).

First run session it was great! I am extremely happy with the RSR Race springs and KYB AGX dampers I put in. Only problem is in my second run session the oil light came on and I strarted hearing a rhythmic pinging noise. Without opening it up to make sure, the theory is that I burned out a rod bearing.

I've decided that I don't want to try and repair the motor so I'm looking for a used 5sfe to use until I can afford my turbo swap.

Can anyone point me at a resource that will tell me which models and years of Toyotas had 5sfe engines?

Thanks in advance

Ohhh .. that sounds like much more fun than what I have to deal with. You going to be using the same tranny or are you replacing that too?

That depends on what you need with it and if you want it delivered.

Send me an email with a list of what you need. I have some video of the engine starting up two days ago I can send along with a price sales@svengineering.org

If you are interested in the project here is a link to the brainstorming http://www.mr2board.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1717

I will have a 5s cylinder head availiable soon. Don;t believe I need it for anything, however it will need to be rebuilt since it was the "suspect" in causing the motor to fail in the first place. Let me know if you can't find a good one. Once I pull this one off I can determine if it is anygood.

LOL I ALSO have a perfectly good 5S cyl head sitting here awaiting a new owner. Shoot me an offer sales@svengineering.org Its actually still on a motor we pulled two months ago during a 3s swap.

If your in NC, and you come get it and pull it yourself ill give you a big discount.
