You were worried your t-belt slipped, did you look into it? Check your timing, if you're off by only a hair, you'll run rough and stall.....
If you run it while its off too long, there is the possibility of damage to your valve train and other parts too. Get that checked. As listed above, clean your injectors out too, running a car out of gas will throw all kinds of gunk from the bottom of your fuel tank into them. Mine had that airhose issue too, duct tape is your friend there, I ran it taped for over a month without issue. Finally did get that replaced though.
When you replaced your plugs, did you order them up right? (correct firing order?) and make sure they were gapped properly. With the replacement distributor you listed, make sure all your wires are seated properly there too. (I know, it sounds like I'm calling you an idiot, but I'm not...even the best mechanics make mistakes, or forget simple things.)
Outside that, I don't know what else to tell you. Sounds like you've got some clues as to what it could be though....good luck!
