On the subject of new rims casuing the need for an alignment, please exercise a little common sense and logic. What you are really aligning is the hub or spindle. The wheel just happens to be bolted on it and offers a bigger target. If the wheel is not bent and appears to spin true, it is parallel to the brake rotor, and it can't possibly change the alignment regardless of the width or diameter. Changing the springs or something else is another story but not part of this one.
