USA CEL and OBTP0146

Hello All,

I have a 2000 carolla LE with 130K miles. Recently the check engine light came on. The OBD code was P0146. I was told by auto zone that it means either the catalytic converter or the Oxygen sensor needs to be replaced.

Now i have a few questions:-

1) How do i find out which componment should be replaced first.
2) Is this a common thing in a caroll after 130K miles
3) Is this that is changing the catalytic converter and the oxygen sensor something that i could do my self. I am a biginner and i am wondering if i could rent a hydralic jack and soe tooks it should be a snap.

Please do let me know what you all think

thanks
ashish
