Engine Problems
I have a 91 3.0 v6 pickup with 220,000 miles. It still has the original engine in it and for the most part is running just fine. Last winter I noticed i kept losing radiator fluid, however I never saw any spots on the driveway. Long story short, I took it to the shop and they said that it had a leaky cylinder head gasket. They also said that they would not fix just the gasket on an engine with that many miles and gave me a quote for 8,000 to get a refurbished engine put in it. As much as I love my truck, that's way too much and really seems unreasonable to me....
so basically, has anyone been in a similar situation? And should start looking into an engine rebuild or replacement? Or just get the gasket replaced?
