Sputtering at 2000 RPM

I have a 1986 ExtraCab 4X4 22RE EFI it sputters if I slowly accelerate, @ about 2 thousand RPMs, but if I put it to the floor, it fires all the way up! I can't seem to figure it out.
PLEASE any help would be great!!!

Im thinking your throttle position sensor is dirty or worn at the point where you would be to reach 2000 rpm. Its just a guess but thats where 90% of your time is spent.

take your throttle body off, clean it well, look up the factory service manual for specs to see if your TPS is good and adjusted properly, using a multi-meter. you can also use an multi-meter and the manual to test out other things like the VAFM (air-flow meter), ignition coil, etc.

I have the same issue with my 88 pickup 4x4. I was told it was either TPS or the O2 sensor and possibly an issue of back pressure since i have a hill-jack exhaust. I havent got the time to look into it yet.

TPS sound like a good suggestion but its a pita to adjust. Do yourself a favor and or the next guy who buys your truck and put allen key bolts in the place of the Phillip screws that hold the TPS on. Its a PITA to adjust and measure so start with easy things first just look all your electrical over first.
Battery connections clean, Bond to Engine clean, Rotor and cap Craked or worn does it have water in it ? Spark plug wires burnt ,ripped, sparkplugs worn or oily gaped right? These thinks dont cost you anything to check just look listen and observe. Then pull out you meter and check resistances of the TPS you might have to pull the throttle body off for that and if you do just go and get it "hot tanked" its the only way to know its clean. a scope might be a better way to check the tps. cause sometimes a multimeter isnt quick enough to see the dead spot

i got the same problem with my 3VZ-E ive cleand the vafm ive changed the plug wires and still nothin i have no clue whats wrong
