Please help

I have an 89 4x4 3.0. Yesterday morning the truck was hard to start and I had to apply full throttle to get it to start. The engine ran very rough at fast idle. The vehicle hesitated slightly in drive as the accelerator was pressed. After warm up, the engine idled very rough and slow and would stop if the accelerator pedal was not pushed to revive it. The truck drives normal as long as you have the throttle applied, engine will die after approx 3 secs if you take your foot off the throttle.

Any ideas where to start?

well the easiest start is going to be to get the codes read
several issues it could be
coil pack gone bad
throttle position sensor
egr valve
to name a few
