Clutch mater cylinder?

i just bought a 1991 toyota pick up its 4 cyl with 4wd. i started having problems with the clutch engaging. sometimes i have to put it into nuetral when coming to a stop and pump on the clutch to make it firm so i can push it down or else it goes down really easily and its really hard to shift. i have also noticed that the top of my clutch master cylinder on the cap looks wet. does this have something to do with the clutch mastr cylinder going bad and would replacing it solve my problems?? your help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Sounds like air in the line, and the cap shouldn't be wet. You might try bleeding the system first, and if you still have problems maybe a new MC is due.
