R134 High/Low A/C preasures

I have a 1985 Toyota P/U 4x4 R22 that has been converted to R134 at an A/C shop. I was told I need to convert to electric fan to improve overal cooling. I did that but no improvement. 65 degrees at the center duct. What should the high and low preasures be at idle with 134R? Thanks

Since your system was not designed to work with R134, that info won't be normally available. Maybe someone else who has done the conversion and has a set of AC gauges maybe able to help.
I did the conversion on my 84 4-5 years ago, and I have the gauge set, but unfortunately the increased pressure form the R134 blew out the front seal of the compressor last summer.

Thanks for the info. I'm afraid of blowing the seal out of mine also because the high side preasure is double what the system should be when it ran on R-12.... Nice Truck BTW.

Thanks.

Yeah, I knew it could happen when I had it converted, but the truck was already 20+ years old then, and since it lasted 4 or 5 more years under the higher pressure, I can't complain.

Since the compressor actually still works, I'm thinking of converting it for use as in a on-board air system. Just need a one-way valve so the tank does't bleed back out thru the compressor.
