ugly third tail light

my 93 toyota pickup 2wd has this stupid looking third tail light screwed onto the top that looks like a little ball cap

has anyone shaved one of these because im going to and wanted to know if it has worked out for anyone

its got one hole the size of a quarter and then two other dime sized holes going through the cab

Shouldn't be a problem for an experienced body man. The holes are pretty small....

so i planned to go from the inside and take off the vinyl roof covering but it would be extremely hard because it is tucked in and probably glued around all sides

so my next plan was to cut a hole in the vinyl roofing and then cold weld the holes shut but it appears that the is a thin metal rod of some sort the goes across from door to door and just happens cross right over the largest hole

so i guess i could cut the rod and cover the hole with interior carpet but idk if the rod serves a function or something
