Australia HELP PLEASE!! on purchasing the right engine for my 92 Hilux Pickup

Hi I live in Australia Sydney,
My Ute had a super charged 250 chev small block engine and the Hilux's body was re enforced to deal with it, It ran on gas and petrol and also will do for the next engine that I purchase. It also has an Automatic transmission that was heat treated and fully worked.
I took the super charged engine out and sold it as it was drinking way too much gas and was too big for the engine bay and kept over heating.

I now please need suggestions on what I should put in next..
something that doesn't suck so much gas but will still give a deep rumble and kick arse if i need it too.. mind you i don't mind showing off when in company or asked to a challenge at the lights and I don't like to lose

Cause of the smaller engine bay I was thinking a 350 Chev Crate Engine but I dunno..

Suggestions would be very much appreciated on an Engine for my 92 Toyota Hilux Ute???,
where too look for the engine???,
how much I should be paying to get a good deal??,
and even if there is somewhere in sydney who specializers in installing the engine for me who are reasonably priced??.

Thanks guys

350 chev should work just fine. Might wanna run the rad in the bed for some additional cooling capacity.

A SB Chevy 350 CID does seem rather universal, but how about a Chevy 4.3L V6? or one of the diesels you have that we don't ?
The Toyota 5MGE and 7MGE engine swaps are popular here, are they readily available there?

250?

thats a straight six

a 350 is a v-8 and way wider and would take up way more space than a 250

a 4.3L is shorter but same width as a 350 even same size cylinder bores, at 4"

none of these engines are great on gas mileage

if you want fuel mileahge then you want like a 3.8L or other smaller later style v-6 engine with MPFI they were lean runners good on gas

unlike the older 4 cyl and v-8 and 4.3L engines etc

you must have a lot of cash to burn because youre gonna need it if you have to hire someone to custom install something into a truck like this

wow..

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$$$$$$$

alot of noobs and dreamers on here i see. wow, amusing...

good luck!!

Dude, the only noob and dreamer on here is you.

The 350 has been a common swap into Toyota trucks since the early 80's. Conversion parts and kits are available for the 350 and other engine swaps.
