engine swap possibilities?

ok so i guess the 3vz-fe engine is a "no go" for my 89 pickup because its a front wheel drive engine. are there any other engines toyota made that directly fits? would like at least a DOHC. The 3vz-e is only SOHC but i guess its a direct fit?

Sorry about that (and the lateness of the response), but you're looking to do some weird stuff.
5VZ-FE should work...

whats easier to swap into a 1990 toyota extended cab t-100 4wd? a small block 350 or a ford 302? i know they make adapter plates for both and several others. but im looking to upgrade from the 22r for more power but would like some input on which option is best not to mention less difficult.
