Speedo gear/cable

I drive an 86 22R 5-speed 4x2. It has the stock tire size of 205/70/14 on there but I was wanting to upgrade to a 15" steelie with somie 235/70/15 tires to make it look a bit meatier.

The problem is that I am also very anal when it comes to things working correctly and I don't think I could deal with the speedometer being off by that much. Has anyone ever swapped the speedo gear out of the transmission with one from a 4x4 to correct this? Is the speedo cable needed as well? How is it done and is it worth it?

to be honest, your speedo could be off pretty bad as it is. They are not that accurate.

I run a higher diff gear ratio so my speedo reads a little fast. You don't even notice it.

lol alright. I guess I can deal with it.

BTW, what is the offset of the stock 14" steel wheels on a 2wd pickup? And what bolt pattern do we have?
