Unhappy Need a new engine. Rebuild, Aftermarket rebuilt, or engine swap? Opinions wanted

I killed my engine in a creek in the Alaska backcountry. I really want to get the trucking going again so I can make it home. I want to get the best deal for my money, since I don’t really have the money. I am looking for opinions.
Should I rebuild my current 3.0 3vze with 215000 miles on it for a quote of $2000? Buy a rebuilt 3.0 motor from Napa (cheapest so far) or other distributor for $3000. Or swap the engine for a different one say Toyota 3.4. I have also heard people swapping with Chevy 4.3, 305. Anybody know what kind of gas mileage these get?
I'm looking for something that is reliable, and gets good gas mileage, and as cheap as possible. My current engine was getting 17-18mpg before I killed it.
Does anyone have experience with any of these options and have an opinion? Also I am a long way from home so most of this work is going to be done by a shop.
Thanks for your help.
