Hi all, 92 22re head gasket question.

Love the forum very informative!

I have a 92 22re with a blown head gasket I'm changing. The new head gasket is slightly different then the old one. I went back to my local parts store we looked it up in the book and it said for 92 the head gasket was upgraded to a different design where two holes no longer exist. Coincidentally it looks like those two holes on mine are the ones that burned out and leaked coolant into the cylinders. But before I resume putting the new one in there has to be someone out there that can confirm to me that this is normal. And yeah I could call Toyota but I won't get anyone till Tuesday (long weekend here in Alberta Canada) and I want to resume my project hehe.


One more question Whats the simplest way to get the intake manifold off cause of the stupid wiring harness going through it? Disconnecting all the plugs down below or somehow from in the cab and pulling it through the firewall?
