Truck not starting

86 toyota truck is not starting. Truck has been siting for about 6 months. Last I started it, it ran great (no problems). Now it will not start. I installed a new battery and I have spark to the plugs. No strange sounds and there is fule in the tank. I thinking its the a fule problem. Could the fule pump be out or wire problems?

86 Turbo Toy,

Yes corrosion is a problem on the older trucks at the fuel pump. Also you can try jumping the fuel pump at the diagnostic port and see if it will start.

Thanks, I am only mechanically inclined, but electrical systems is not my specialty. Where is the diagnostic port and what two wires do I cross? Can I disconnect the fuel line from the fuel filter and see if fuel is pumping?

truck not starting

try spraying starter fluid down the intake . If it starts then the fuel pump has a problem. It might be a bad ground or a fuse. If it wound start then it could be a timing issue. I hope this helps.
