22re timing stuff

I replaced the cylinder head on my 94 p/u last weekend. Struggled to get the timing right and discovered I had knocked the TPS way out of adjustment. In fact, I installed it improperly and it wasn't engaging so the idle was racing with the timing advanced completely. Half assed that back and it timed easily afterward BUT, should I start over completely? The thing is, the idle screw on the throttle body is nearly bottomed out and it wasn't that way before. Now that I have it timed should I reset the TPS to specs using an ohm meter and re-time it? It just seems like it was too easy to time after eyeballing the TPS and I don't like how things don't match to what they were prior to the work I did. Am I just over thinking this?
