I forgot something. Start the car up and turn on everything you can imagine. AC on high speed, high beams, etc. Check the voltage at the battery. It should still be well above 12.
Sometimes weird things happen to components within the car but most commonly, the obvious candidate wins out. Check the ground strap from the battery as well. make certain that the battery is being charged when the engine is running.
