I had the flash done recently (~1K miles ago) and the flare seems to be fixed - it just holds 3rd gear longer.

The dealer also mentioned something about Toyota updating the programming for the drive-by-wire to make it quicker (BS?) and alleviate some of the flaring issues.

I dont know if I buy all that (probably BS) but it seems to be OK for now.
