I'm tired, so I'll keep this brief.
Gen 1 cams are specific to head, I have dyno sheets to prove that gutting the TVIS or wiring it permanently open is a massive step backwards LEAVE IT FUNCTIONAL AND ALONE, milling the head is probably a big mistake as you have removed your squish areas, you can look for an unmachined head and fit gen 3 3sge pistons to bring your compression back up, look into an aftermarket ecu as you can gain power with a decent tune by getting your ignition timing spot on. You have a series 2 gen 1 3SGE with 295cc injectors so these will suffice. Don't bother finding a JDM ecu, they don't work that well. I would stay away from porting the head, the ports are already too big.
Look into getting some custom cams ground, and fit extractors (headers to US people) to gain a bit of flow in the top end.
My gen 1 3SGE makes 123hp at the wheels currently, with a POD filter, extractors and a good tune on the dyno. I'm aiming for low-130's once I get an aftermarket ecu fitted and tuned. Thats from an internally standard motor, so you can make reasonable power out of them.
