I assume you're looking at the station wagon. The model code is HJ60.
The 2H engine is a slow but powerful engine, so driving it will be very different from any petrol vehicle. Once you accept that you will have lotsa fun in it. The main problem on the 60 series is rust, look at the bottom sills, front apron, roof runners. If you don't find anything there, you can continue to look at the engine, tranny and t-case. The tranny lever should not be floppy, the engine should turn after 2 or 3 turns (remember to pre-heat the diesel by turning the ignition far enough to let the glow plug light illuminate).
I own a 1987 HJ60 with over 200k miles on and still going strong.
