I can understand the need to disable for HID's but in my opinion I don't think DRL's are distracting to other drivers if your lights are aimed properly. Parasitic loss and bulb life are on all cars. Bulb life is more on cars with DRL's. The ECM is always on even when the car is off, but't not a whole lot of voltage it uses.
