well you have to remember too that the 92-98(i think) E153 have a short gear ratio and the later years have a taller ratio.

also main difference with drive axles is that they are longer than the non abs axles. if you junk yard all your parts get the abs axles as the input spines are longer.

in the gen 3 the i4 hard line works just fine.

erm i know the 96 ecu will throw a start sensor error that can only be resolved with a rpm switch (or piggy back)

also the spec stage 3 clutch with a fidanza flywheel has clearance issues. the fidanza flywheel is about .02 inches thicker and the same with everything else ..... slowly adding up. i had my flywheel milled down about .25 of a inch ....... after toasting that clutch.

if I can make some corrections on that....the shorter gear ratios are in the mr2 e153 as a certainty, and they are also a bit shorter in the 92-93 e153 that came with the 3vz

as for the different drive axles, abs doesn't make a difference since the only difference is in the abs sensor ring at the hub end. the differential-side splines themselves are actually longer on the 97+ e153 axles as compared to the automatic ones. from what we can tell though, the 3vz auto and 5-speed axles seem to be the same though- or at least close enough to use (according to ratko's swap). and all the hard lines are identical for the trannys and can also be made by using hard brakelines from any auto store.

As for the 96 obdII ecu....that's good to know. on the 94 obdII, the only codes that are thrown are shift-solenoid codes. Do you have any more info on the problem and how to solve exactly it on the 96 (i.e. what the rpm window switch is for exactly) or how a piggyback would solve it (I presume an emanage)?

as for the spec stage3 and fidanza flywheel- I have a spec stage 3 clutch and spec lightened flywheel (which is supposed to be the same as the fidanza one), and I have problems with the flywheel catching on the stater, but beyond that, nothing to do with the clutch really except for it sticking- which I think is from a bad slave.

did yours have the same symptoms chronoti? and did you ever end up installing your blower too?
