This car is for my mom, which we bought for $28,500 last night, the fact we could have done better I guess is a moot point now. I kept saying we could do a little better, but the difference between $28,500 and $27,800 is really just splitting hairs when you look at the big picture according to my parents.
Anyway, with all the performance stuff and what not with the VSC, it really doesnt matter all that much does it? I mean it's a Camry not a Cayman, we all get that right? If she wanted a sports sedan she'd of bought a Bimmer or Audi (which we almost did). This is NOT a sports sedan in any manner IMO. The car is just a nice semi-entry level lux sedan that is comfortable.
VSC sucks - I agree. It's is a bit intrusive on my GF's IS350 when driven hard, but even on that car, it's not unbearable. As a few have said, it's better safe than sorry - especially in a car that is NOT a track car. If this were a sports car and you got fuel cut everytime the wheels spun a bit I'd agree that it's ridiculous, but for this car, that just is not the case.
On another note, I have been less than impressed by this car to this point. They had a little fiasco at the dealer - while prepping the original car, the idiot doing it scraped the passenger side while backing up; we obviously got a different car... We got home and a few hours later, what do we notice? Condensation in the headlights! Then this afternoon, my mom is sitting in the drive way with the car on trying to load some CDs and what happens? She puhses a button and the whole car shuts down - electrical system and all - car would not start. So, my parents call the dealer (they are like 5 mins from our house), guy comes out and changes a fuse or something (I wasnt around while this happened) and tells us to make an appointment for the headlights... So overall, to this point, I'm a little disappointed - my one consolation in all of this? At least it isn't my car... haha
