Question Rebuilding my FX-16

Hey guys, i am tearing the old beat-down, 275k, 4age out of my little hatchback and replacing it with a fresher one.

I am a self-admitted novice at the workings of the toyota EFI system. I have a spare motor, and would really appreciate some guidance as to some common practices for rebuilding and reinstalling one of these zippy little motors.
  • Do you recommend any particular engine manuals?
  • Where can i get a cheap rebuild kit?
  • Are there any common problems? (e.g. Faulty Injectors, Bad Wiring)
  • What are some sites with good diagrams of the fuel system, wiring, and mechanical workings?
  • Is there a way to do this on a tight budget?
Again, any help you offer will help immensely.

Thank you, Jon
