They picked the perfect motor for the hybrid. The 3.5L is the most fuel efficient V6 and the most powerful too in Toyota/Lexus' lineup.

Too bad they aren't putting it in the place of the 3.0L I6 GS300 base motor. Would make sense if they did b/c Mercedes nows has the E350, not E320. I believe that he Avalon and IS350 have this 3.5L motor in it, so it should be feasible to put it into the GS.

They will. The reason why we have the 3.0 litre now is because the 3.5 litre output is too close to the 4.3 litre's output. They're waiting for the 4.6 litre before launching the GS350.
