Im looking for a 1996-2000 lexus es300, what should i look for when im testing out the car? and what is generally a good price for it?

Burnt out instrument needles or lights
Valve cover gaskets or rear main seal (causing oil leaks)
Failed heated seats
Peeling of B-pillar (between front & rear windows)
A/C defective
Yellow or hazed headlights or foglights
Transmission hesitation, or lag of acceleration
Antenna
Window regulator


Also, when you find a vehicle, check all fluids and O2 sensors. Prices will vary depending on condition of the body, mileage, and service. Under no circumstance should you pay over 10-11g IMO unless its a 2001 with low mileage.

Go with either a 2000 or a 2001. They've got VVTi, which i believe the 99 does as well. not only does the 99-01 add vvt-i, it also adds a different from bumper, headlights, HID, and better rear tail lights.

make sure the maintainence records are kept up to date and that the car has received maintainence work, as schedule. on the 1mz-fe engine, it's known to have "sludge". Sludge can be prevented with regular oil changes.
