never mind, i figured it out. it was pretty easy, actually. the mounting tabs broke off, so i drilled a few small holes near where they used to be, and used zipties to tie the bumper to the holes where the screw was supposed to fit into. it fits perfectly, and problem solved. i was able to drill the holes in the rim of the bumper where it fits under the fender, so the holes and zipties are not visible in the least. looks factory. now, instead of spending money at a body shop, she can spend it buying me drinks instead!
