It will fit perfectly...no problems. There are lots of people with pre-97 SCs that update to the 97 bumpers/sideskirts. Only thing you will need to buy are a pair of the updated foglights, and also the grill that will go in the center. Aside from that, everything will line up and fit perfectly, no modification necessary.
The only thing that you will need to modify or buy a new one is the Absorber in the front (located where the grill will be, smack in the middle of the bumper, behind the cover). It is simply a piece of tough styrofoam. You can use your current absorber and just trim it down so that it is not seen through the grill, or you can just buy a 97 absorber which will fit with no cutting. A 1997 absorber can be had for around $40-50.
All you really need to do the conversion is the bumper and an absorber behind it, the foglights and grille are totally optional but they will complete the look cleanly. If you get the grill, you will need 3 screws and washers to hold the grill from behind (available at Hardware stores). You will have to wire your lighting to get those foglights to work properly, because our pre-1995 wiring was setup only for cornering lights that go on with turn signals. Wiring them up to be foglights is not difficult, if you need assistance with that, start another thread, I'd be glad to help!
Good luck!
