I say go for it but it might be tough since ClubLexus is well established.

Club Lexus isn't the only game in town. The Lexus Owners Club is also very well established with three forums (a very large USA forum, a fairly large UK forum and a new Australia forum).

What would I do? I'd setup the lexusnation.com domain to point to your Lexus forums right here on Toyota Nation. However, I'd update the templates to give the appearance that the Lexus Nation forum stands on it's own. I did something similar, though I rushed it and didn't do a very good job here. If you go to the forum on 90sxchange.com, it's actually 80sxchange.com's vBulletin.

You can easily create a custom header and update all the templates to make it look like the forum's front page is independent.. Create separate sections for individual models and go from there. Am I explaining myself well enough here? :p

The reason why I'm suggesting this is because you already have a very good thing here that's all-Toyota encompassing (Toyota, Lexus and Scion). Why break it up if you don't necessarily have to?

As a member of clublexus, and lexusownersclub.com i appreciate toyotanation being more toyota specific but having a lexus subsection. The existing forums are already very active another lexus forum site would kind of saturate the market a lil... just my .02

PLEAAAAAAAAAAASE make LexusNation.

I HATE ClubLexus. So unfriendly and unhelpful

Good search database but when you want to ask a question they jump on you to tell you how dumb you are.

well, seeing as how this question was posted two and a half years ago would lead me to wonder what ever was decided? Whenever I search for Lexusnation, I see it as a registered website, but when I click on it, theres nothing. IT's just a blank page.

they said they own the domain, but never made anything with it. personally I own an MR2, but was poking around for info to help my friend who owns an sc400.
about making it or not, I'm not sure. The mr2 section here is decently active and a real helpful group of people, but the real wealth of knowledge is on another established mr2 specific site. they have more sub-sections which can be helpful when narrowing down a search or question related to a more specific issue, but there is also the problem of how difficult or expensive it is to have more sections, and moderate them. though id like to think if your grown up enough to own and appreciate a lexus...
personally, if you build up the lexus section to separate either class models or similar engines or chasis etc. you could build up a good community and if one section really takes off maybe expand it a lil further.
In any case, gl with whatever you do, I will be heading back to the MR2 section ^^

It would be nice to have another option to the existing Lexus forums.

I would re-do the TN header to make it more obviously inclusive of Lexus then make your Lexus Nation domain active and link it to the revised TN site.
