IS300 has the USDM 2JZ-GE engine, N/A i.e. no turbo.

The USDM spec 2JZ-GTE engine is a twin turbo motor, the same twin turbo setup found in the 94+ Supra TT.

The swap is doable, try searching on www.clublexus.com and www.is300.net

People have done it, and those are better resources than you will find here at TN

The problem with the swap isn't the power you can produce but with the tires to stick on the road ... I dont think lexus IS is capable to put much wider tires (something like 300s)...

You don't need a super fat setup unless you are looking to produce over 700rwhp. And for that matter, the IS can handle 300 series tires, you just need to shave and pull the fenders to make room.

Will the tyranny be able to hold out that big power? I've never seen stick toyota/Lexus with big power...as far as I know, most high whp supra are auto.... even the new is500 would be 7-speed auto (I forgot where I read it)...of course, I'm assuming the original owner is stick

correct me if im wrong, but arent the best "high hp" trannys sequential?....i too will be doing research on a 2JZ-GTE swap....NYLex has been talking me into buyin an SC300

i have lotsa plans for it too....dunno if i dare go over 500hp...but i aim for a min 400

the IS300 was my original car of choice for the 2JZ swap, but still has a high resale value, the SC300s with higher mileage is basically all i can afford if i wanna get serious in modding...and they look sexy as hell, and have a timeless body 92-00..generally the same shape with minimal body mods....

just my $.02

btw NYLexSC...even if you consider your car "slow" like you said in the other threads...youd still be able to walk away from my "fast" camry ANY day!, lmao
