GS430 Discontinued?

Hi,

I told my dad to buy a GS430 and now the local dealer says the car has been discontinued and only the GS430H is available. I find this hard to believe that Lexus would not offer a V8 anymore. Please confirm.

That's not completely true. The GS430 will be giving a bigger engine and become the GS460, the same 4.6L V-8 that will go into the LS460. upcoming GS series models will include the GS350, GS460 RWD, and GS450H hybrid.

umm....whatever salesman told you that doesnt shoulldnt be selling cars. gs430 is still avail and the hybrid is not the 430 but the 450

Like they said, it's going to get a new V8, so the GS430 is discontinued in that sense. Should be noted, though, that the V8 GS is available for order only.

I am confused and it seems that Lexus guards its information. Is the GS430 with V8 only special order now until the GS460 replaces it sometime in 2008? Why would the dealers be saying only lot cars are left and not many of them? Please fill me on how Lexus sales channel works.

Take your business to another dealership. Anyone who tell's you only lot cars are available for 2007 year model is lying (it could be true for 2006 year models, but not for 2007 year models). If they can not deliver what you seek, why bother 'educating' them.
