CRAP!! Just got a 2005 ES330...

While I was at work I got a call from my wife saying she was going to the one day Lexus sale. I told her just to look...not buy. Later this afternoon I got a call and she got the car. It has 12000 miles on it and was the dealership loaner. I am concerned because loaners are ALWAYS beat on. Any suggestion on what problems I should look for? I would like to get everything fixed before the warranty runs out.

I heard the the "drive-by-wire" system is flaky and unfixable.

Come on it is LEXUS even 12000 beating miles is nothing for it. At least loaner cars get oil change on time and service (dealership takes care of that on strict bases) and you also got WARRANTY so gas it up and drive it.

P.S. I have a GS 300 with 209000 miles still runs like a champ

yeah no worries bud. That car is and will be a sweet ride and i'm sure you got a good price because it was a loaner.

$31,000. I don't think that was a good deal.

You're better off leasing the new ES350.

Unless of course, it's the top of the line model, other than that. What a rip.

My personal opinion in regards to leasing a car is its a waist of money. I know alot of people that lease their Escalades, M3's and so on and they hate it in 2 years. It's renting a car for tooo much money. You got a good car at some what of a high price but enjoy it, its a lexus. My gs has 151,000 miles and runs better then my friends 05 Ford 500 ahaha.

Congrats on the new car and enjoy it.

Must love the wife , but 12,000....I wouldn't concern too much about it ... people would gun their cars every now and then anyway (although not as much)

I'd not worry about this at all. Next time tell wifee to call you for pricing before purchasing!

Is there any chance of returning it and getting a refund?
