I own a 99 gs300 with 105k on it, it shut down whjile driving, shop found that the alternator had broken off the engine!!!! the lower ear that is part of the block broke off of it and now they say it needs an engine!! the top one broke off the water pump as well...so now they are telling me I have to get a new short block installed for $7,000!!! is this a common thing??? is this car even worth the 7k to spend on it?? will lexus offer assistance?? thanks for any help and advice in advance. thanks again! chris
