turboing the IS300

hey guys, I have been thinking about putting a turbo on my IS 300. Now I know that I can't put just a turbo on and be all set so I don't need that extra info unless you insist on providing it. But I was just wondering what you guys think about the amount of boost that I can get away with using stock internals, and also about how much horsepower at the wheels it would give me? Another thing is like what kind/size turbo should I go with if I want decently quick spool because I want to be able to do autocross and possibly road race with it. So I want a decently broad power band not just top end power. Thanks for the help.

Ok lets see first off i dont have a turbo and dont know a whole lot about it but on the IS300 u would not want to go over 300+ hp without upgrading the clutch. A stage 1 turbo kit will get u to just under 300 and looking to spend about 2000 for a used kit. But heres the catch, when turboing a IS u WILL run into problems, not MABYE, so wat u should do is put off to the side how much the kit cost u so WHEN something happens to ur car u can fix it. A great site to find out more about this is MY.IS
