SC430 Cabin Filter Replacement

How do I replace the cabin filter on my 2002 SC430? I think that it is behind the glove box but can't get the glove box unhooked. I see the two black knobs on either side but when I twist them (about 1/4 turn) they don't come off. Can anyone help?

Replacing the cabin air filter

Here are the instructions I wrote to myself when I changed the filter for the first time in my 2002 ES300:
1. Remove Phillips head screw from right side of the glove compartment door and pull the lifter mechanism away from the post.
2. Reach into the compartment and turn the plastic button on each side a quarter turn (can't remember if it is right or left, just try) and then pull the button into the glove compartment.
3. Lower the drawer and pull toward you.
4. Grasping by outer edges, pull the compartment containing the filter toward you.
5. Install new filter
6. Replace filter drawer and push in until it snaps
7. With the glove compartment drawer tilted well down toward the floor, engage the hinges so that the bar on the dashboard is BETWEEN the two prongs on each hinge.
8. Reinstall the two plastic buttons and turn a quarter turn to lock.
9. Reattach lifter mechanism and reinstall phillips head screw.
10. Record date and milage on service record.

Hope this helps.
