Help me decide on 02 GS300

I've never owned a Lexus. Always had MB's. But am seriously considering buying an 02 GS300 from CarMax today. Drove it last night, pretty nice. Seems more road noise than our E320, but not bad.

Anyway, from what I've read so far there are 2 serious issues with cars with 90+k miles.

Ball Joints - I must make sure they have been replaces. Is there a TSB on this issue from Lexus?

Timing Belt - again, is there a mileage set by the factory about when to change these?

Are there any other issues I should make sure have been repaired/replaced before I commit?

Oh, this one has a Nav System. Do they have to be updated with new maps? If so, is there a charge from Lexus for this?

Someone, please get back to me soon. It's 8:10am in Atlanta (and snowing, dumb! Played golf Thurs with short sleve shirt!!!), and I was going to sign the papers around lunch.

Thanks

HEy, i just traded in my camry for 03 GS300 sportdesign... its an amazing car... as far as the timing belt, like any car it should be replaced at 90k miles.. ball joints are issues for some. just have it checked, there are symptoms before it goes so it wont leave you stranded or anything..
checkout www.clublexus.com lots of good info there.
