LS430 mph -> km cluster?

I'm considering purchaseing a used LS430 from the states and bringing it up here to Canada. I'm wondering how the change over from MPH to KM works. I haven't actuly driven the car yet, so i'm not familior with how the display will change. In my cadi sts 1997, when I change the setting from km to mph, all the gauges changes in the entire car, along with the speedometer. There is only one set of numbers on the car, and when you change the mph to km setting, you see the light change from km to mph at the bottom and the needle then jumps to the coresponding mile reading. I'm wondering how this is done in the LS430. Thanks..

I think the only way you can do it in the Lexus(and Toyota) cars is to buy a whole new cluster in KPH. We had a rental Chrysler Concorde in Calgary/Banff last summer that switched electronically, it was pretty cool

You would have to change the cluster to get it to km. Maybe around $1300.

And I'm pretty sure the kilometers would be off since they stay with the cluster. I could be wrong though.

Most modern cars have MPH and KPH on the same cluster..so i'd say stick with it and squint your eyes to see the minute readings...

The KM's are on the cluster, I can see them.. I wish you/the americans would switch to metric like the rest of the world.. Of course this dosen't help me in this case..

Well.. I hope your not saying we should change over all to RHD, clearly the few who are left.. Should change to LHD.. But at least metric would be good..

Just wanted to point out that all systems have people following them...and people want others to change first. Hence, NO one is going to change and US is doomed to not follow the metric system. As much as I like the metric system, i had to change my guaging system when i came here....Similarly, what i'm trying to say is that you'll have to adapt to where you take your lexus...

mph to km

hello

I'm in the same predicament. I bought a 2001 is300 from seattle and i live in bc, so i've been looking at a bunch of forums and parts place not to metion ebay. I found 1 for my car, buts it's an after market 1 and it doesnt have the mph.... lol...... i really dont care for my personall purposes but when i come to sell it i think i'll probably come into problems. I also know there is companies in seattle called km to mph so i was trying to find out how much they charge cuz they are bonded and they also set you odometer to exactly what it should be. But anyways i'm still looking for an lexus 1s300 dash gauge cluster whatever u wanna call it. If u have any more questions email me and i'll see what i can do and in return if you find anyting out could u please let me know

thank you
paul
