Toyota used Shell auto trans oil

I also got the trans/diff oil drained and topped up today at Toyota dealership. (Toyota said they do not recommend a flush). When I got the bill, I noticed "Shell Auto Trans oil" on it instead of Dexron III ( on the dipstick). I'm keeping my fingers crossed that because they are Toyota dealership, they are using something that is similar specification as Dexron III.

The car is a Toyota Windom (supposed to be same as the ES300).

Shell does indeed make Dex 3: http://www.jmsonline.net/ATF-SHELL-DEXRON-III.htm

I'd bet money the Toyota dealership is using something within spec.

What year is your ES300?

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

Im sure the fluid meets the specs. None of these manufacturers make theyre own oil. What they do is come up with certain specifiations for the oil and see which oil company gives them the best deal on that specific type of fluid. They then buy that fluid from the oil company and slap theyre Toyota, Honda, Ford, chevy, ect. label on it.
