sc300 for 3.5-5k

Is it a good price? My friend is selling her Lexus for around 3.5k-5k, sound system is f-ked, Auto, V6, nothing wrong with engine, everything else is f-ked hard. Paint slightly chipping, as I said radio/head unit is messed, subwoofer is random, antenna is cut, doorhandles/windows messed.

Thanks.

I wouldn't pay more than 2k unless they plan on including those missing/broken bits.

as long as the engine and tranny is in good shape its all gravy. radios, sound system, windows, door handles, and paint are all manageable in terms of price and cost, engine and tranny are not. remember, you need the engine and tranny to drive the car, not the sound system. besides, i think its better for you if they are not in the best of shape cause that only drives the cost of the car down and allows you to personalize it to your own tastes and preferences. you can now decide what the color of the car should be and which sound system setup to get.

another added bonus, the less you spend on buying the car means the more you get to spend on the awesome 2jz-gte swap!

You can get an auto in good condition for about the same price. If he let everything get messed up i doubt he took care of the car.

What year is that SC300 that your friend has for sale?? How many miles? I dont think it is worth 5k, it might be 3.5k. The sound system you can get oem used "fairly" cheaply. If everything else except the engine/tranny is messed up, I wouldnt buy it unless you're gonna have the finances to fix it. And this can be costly (trust me I know). Lexus parts, even though its a Toyota really, are expensive, even used. If you're gonna replace inside trims of your car, its gonna be tough to find them cheap. Check www.car-part.com that all body shops across the U.S. use to locate used parts for their customer's cars.

Other than that, supply us with some pix and lets see whats gotta be done.

Cheers!
