99 ES300 Trac Off and Check Engine

Any idea what's up with this? Check engine light and Trac Off are both illuminated. What could that mean? I double checked the Traction Control switch and its set to on. What gives?

Had the same problem. Went to the dealer to get the diagnostic computer check out. Turns out it was one of the 4 O2 sensors indicating a leaner than normal mixture was occuring! Dealer is replacing one of the rear sensors - it was malfunctioning and the engine is running fine regardless of the failed indicator. If it bugs you, you can disconnect the battery temporarily to see if it comes back - than go get it checked out to verify this info! You only lose traction control - My light came on every few hundred miles - heavy accelerating moments mostly!

Hello,
Dear dank,
I think about System (TRC) on Yours Vehicle provide procedure for retrieving trouble codes without a scan tool (by short terminals Tc and E1 in DLC No.3 or DLC No.2).
Need read the throuble codes and check faulty "devices".
Best Regards,
