LSD option for 2004 IS300

Hi all,

First I want to say I am a NOOB.
Brand Spankin' new Member. How's everybody doing?

I do have a question. Can somebody explain....
Looking at the Lexus website:
Why does the 2004 IS300 ESHIFT trim not have an option for LSD but the 5 Speed version does? Does the automatic eshift transmission have an equivalent function that substitutes LSD?

As far as I know...when I bought my car in 2001...I had to request LSD as an option. There is no equivelent in the automatic as both cars (manual and Automatic) are rear wheel drive ( no final drive function as in front wheel drive).

As of last year both cars had LSD as an option. Not sure why the change this year.

I would assume, its either been overlooked on the website or LSD is a standard feature in automatic and still an option in the manual.

That make any sense?

Thanks for the input.
Ya, looking at the features on the site....under both eshift or 5 speed, it says LSD. However, when selecting a trim/package I did not see LSD as an option for eshift, and it was the first option for the 5 speed.

Weird, maybe it would be standard for automatic. hmm...
or like you said, maybe it was overlooked on the site. If the option was standard, I would figure, it would actually list it.

its too vague. maybe the dealer might know alittle better.
I'll have to swing by this weekend. maybe a 'test' drive.

It was previously available only on higher end packages.

Just looked up the Canadian site www.lexus.ca and for the both manual and automatic, the options are the same. You can get LSD on either the Premium package or Sport Design II package.

why the USA site is different.
