It's true, the GE engine isn't as strong as the GTE engine. But is 600HP+ good enough for ya?
For turbo, forget about GS4/3 and Solara. IS3 is the way to go.
Otherwise, step up to rear-wheel drive and get yourself a GS.
First question is what are you going to use teh car for what do you want out of it and do you want to get back on teh modding train again?
An 01 IS has no armrest but can be added. an 02 model is better
I still don't think an IS is the best for the money.
A GS 300 is a nice frame car with an engine made to be turboed. If you aren;t going to be doing that then don't buy it it is also cheaper so there are lots of black kids around T.O. driving 300's because it is the closest they can get to a GS 400. For a GS 3 it would be better to buy an IS with the same motor and less weight.
The 400 is a great machine easy to drive daily but still lots of fun.
There are lots of upgrades but in the high $$ mark.
Also teh new GS comes out next year so the old style will depreciate. But it is true JDM VIP style if done properly with a fat wad of monry thrown at it.
The solara? it doesn;t figure into the question, as i am still not sure what you are looking for and that car is in a class by itself.
dude get the solara, everyone else has a lexus, so go wit sumptin that no one else has, be original, sides my uncle has a solara and they are fun as sh*t. So dont go with the flow, get a solara.
we dont even know how hardcore youre gonna go with the mods.. so if the mods are heavy engine wise, the gs 300 would be a perfect candidate cuz of the 2jz and heavy/stong chassis that can handle it easily. therefore, thats my pick. you can practically make a 4 door supra cuz its only a few hundred pounds heavier.
